Most people think that to lose weight you might have to deny yourself your favourite foods and stick to a rigid diet. If you have been listening to diet absurdity on TV, in the lunch room and in the magazines, you may be suspicious of this, but this is science. It is easy to check at any university or school. But getting yourself to eat in a way to accomplish this is not a matter of will power or a lifetime of calorie counting. It is an issue of retraining your brain. Success in permanent weight reduction is caused by developing a brand new set of customs where you eat everything you enjoy in frequencies and the proper quantities, and it becomes habitual, automatic and 'natural'. You have seen other people do it, those individuals who appear to eat just like you or worse and remain slender. You can do it also!You see, your body doesn't function on a 24 hour schedule. A 5'4' woman needs an average of about 1800 calories per day and will not gain weight if she does not transcend that. However, if she has customs where she averages that a large part of the time, and exceeds it just occasionally, which is quite easy, she will get overweight and constantly increase weight! This has likely been happening to you, if you are a normal American. But instead of thinking of it as a daily funding, think 12,600 calories per week. A glass of wine is about 100. We need to discuss, if you believe you can't fit those things in on a day with a funding of 3800.Developing good eating habits isn't difficult, but it can be done. Once the customs are in place, we get a different consequence. We stay the weight we wish to be and become. Now, just our favored foods are eaten by us. We waste no calories on mediocre food. Our 'diet' contains every kind of sauce, meat, potatoes, pasta, wine, beverages and even desserts you can think of, so long as they are good enough. We deny ourselves nothing. That is a way to 'reprogram' your habits so the calories come out right, and it becomes habitual and automatic, not even difficult to maintain for many.You don't have to live a miserable life of diet food and torturous exercise to solve your weight problem. In reality, permanent weight loss is the result of learning a pleasurable way of living which includes some of your most cherished foods and actions, a lifestyle that becomes habitual and normal for you.
